§ 5196. Sulfur.

- All requirements of NFPA 655-1982, “Prevention of Sulfur Fires and Explosions,” incorporated herein by this reference, shall apply to the crushing, grinding or pulverizing of sulfur and to the handling of sulfur. This standard shall not apply to the mining or transportation of sulfur, nor to the use of sulfur for fumigation, preservation of fruit or similar operations. At locations for which a building permit was issued before December 29, 1981, NFPA 655-1971, “Standard for Prevention of Sulfur Fires and Explosions,” incorporated herein by this reference, shall apply.
