§ 2420.4. Conductor Supports.

- (a) Conductors smaller than No. 8 shall be rigidly supported on noncombustible, nonabsorbent insulating materials and may not contact any other objects. Supports shall be installed as follows:(1) Within 6 in. (152 mm) from a tap or splice;(2) Within 12 in. (305 mm) of a dead-end connection to a lampholder or receptacle; and(3) At intervals not exceeding 4.5 ft. (1.37 m), and at closer intervals sufficient to provide adequate support where likely to be disturbed.HISTORY1. New section filed 5-5-2008; operative 5-5-2008.
