§ 16-556. Purity of Solvents.

- Each licensee engaged in the dry cleaning of garments shall maintain the solvents used in the dry cleaning process at a level of purity sufficient for the effective cleaning of garments.(a) The color of any dry cleaning solvent shall be not less than 15% transmissions as measured by a photo electric spectro photometer at a wave length of 500 millicrons.(b) The total nonvolatile residue shall not exceed 5 grams for each 100 milliliters of solvent.(c) The net nonvolatile residue shall not exceed 1 1/2 grams for each 100 milliliters of solvent.(d) Leather and fur cleaners shall be excluded from the standards enumerated in subsections (a) through (c).
