§ 6194. Short Term Rental.

- (a) If the public permits an owner or tenant to occupy the real property acquired on a rental basis for a short-term or for a period subject to termination by the public entity on short notice, the amount of rent required shall not exceed the lesser of the fair rental value to a short-term occupier or the pro rata portion of the fair rental value for a typical rental period.If the owner or tenant is an occupant of a dwelling, the rental for the dwelling shall be within his financial means. (See subsection 6008(c).)(b) A post-acquisition tenant who occupies real property acquired on a rental basis for a short term and who is informed that the property has been acquired for a public use shall be given not less than 30 days notice of termination of the tenancy.HISTORY1.
